If you're not familiar with Shelter - which is a slightly flawed, but extremely charming and well shot/acted, low-budget gay film from 2007 - I can recommend reading this fandom pimp by true_enough and this one by christinchen . And, of course, I can highly recommend watching the movie, too :)
